Rapper Jay-Z will have powerful names in music world collaborating for his new album.

It was previously reported that his new record will be produced solely by Timbaland, but then the plan has changed. The husband of R&B diva BeyoncĂ©, will have a bit of competition between his collaborators, because he’s now adding Kanye West on the list.

Talking about his decision to put West and Timbaland in a battle arena, “I’m a person that works off music. If Timbaland makes 10 great tracks then he produces the album, if Kanye West makes 10 great tracks then he produces the album; if he makes three, I’ll take three. I let the music dictate the direction. You know I love Timbaland, he is like a brother to me, but until the music is done it’s premature”.

The 38-year-old musician was a successful headline for Glastonbury Festival 2008 last June, becoming the first major hip-hop artist to headline the British festival. His “American Gangster” album, which was inspired by the film of the same name, got praised from critics, and was named the third best album of 2007 by The Rolling Stone magazine.

Yeah, let’s hope the follow-up album to ‘American Gangster’ could be even more fierce with all those great names behind!
