Not only Paris Hilton who can be a designer, R&B heartthrob, Chris Brown will also joined in the fashion world.

The ‘With You’ singer has designed a line of branded caps for headwear and apparel maker New Era Cap, which will pay Brown a royalty for every hat sold. Brown’s caps which features six designs, including one evoking the 1980s with an image of a boom box and another featuring the initials “CBE,” for his record label Chris Brown Entertainment, will go on sale August 14 at hat retailer Lids, New Era stores and newera.com.

Brown is apparently a fan of the company’s caps, because he was seen several times wearing them in videos. Some of the spotted ‘promo’ is his video appearances for his singles “Kiss Kiss,” “Run It!,” “Wall to Wall” and, most recently, for David Banner’s “Get Like Me (Stuntin’ Is a Habit).”

The singer, who’s a ‘very close friend’ to Rihanna, designed 10 hats and retains ownership rights to the four unused designs. His hats will retail for $35 to $40. New Era declined to provide specific information about Brown’s expected compensation but the sales is predicted around 5,000 caps.

The company’s entertainment marketing manager, Jennifer Yu said, “Usually what we’ve done with celebrity collaborations has been limited and not intended for the mass market. We saw this as a next step to open up to a larger market”.

Hmm… Brown’s pocket will be much thicker from that 5,000 caps! Would you buy it?
