On Friday, comedian Bernie Mac was hospitalized in Chicago for pneumonia. As said by his rep, “Mr. Mac is responding well to treatment and will be released soon. He asked that his privacy and that of his family is respected while he gets well”.

The rep also added that the pneumonia is not related to Mac’s diagnosis of sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in organs such as the lungs or lymph nodes.

This 50-year-old actor has suffered from sarcoidosis since 1983, and has been in remission from the disease since 2005. He has said that it has no effect on his daily life.

Hopefully, the guy who played Bosley in “Charlie’s Angels II” is doing alright and will soon get back to his wife, daughter and granddaughter in healthy condition. Get well soon Mac!
