American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken and his ‘dear friend’ music producer Jaymes Foster welcomed a baby boy Friday morning.

The singer wrote the birth news on his website, “HE’S HERE! My dear friend, Jaymes, and I are so excited to announce the birth of Parker Foster Aiken (No hyphens. One first name. One middle name. One last name)”.

Aiken’s mother, Faye, first broke the news by telling Lynda Loveland of Raleigh, N.C., TV station WRAL about the birth. According to Faye, Foster gave birth at a North Carolina hospital.

The baby has “dark hair” and named after Faye’s middle name. He weighed 6 lbs., 2 oz. and was 19 inches long. He was born at 8:08 a.m. Aiken also added, “Wow … 8:08 … 08/08/08, The little man is healthy, happy, and as loud as his daddy. Mama Jaymes is doing quite well also”.

The 29-year-old crooner and 50-year-old record producer met while Aiken competed on American Idol season 2. After the competition has ended, Aiken goes solo career, and Foster has produced several of his albums. Even though they are not romantically involved, they have decided to have a child via in vitro fertilization. The new parents plan to raise the child together.
