Another Knighty Week for The Dark Knight!
It seems very hard to stop BatPod from high speeding in the box-office!
The Dark Knight remained strong at the number one position at the cinema for the fourth straight weekend, grossing $26 million and bringing its overall domestic gross to $441.5 million.
The movie has just slides its way to the third top-grossing film of all time, surpassing the previous third-ranked “Shrek 2″, perhaps only a week away from trumping “Star Wars” for second place. The original “Star Wars” earned $461 million, including rereleases, which can be take taken down (quite) easily by the end of the week if “The Dark Knight” keep its current pace.
“Pineapple Express”, the action comedy movie starred Seth Rogen was the weekend’s second best-performing movie, with $22.4 million. Third place was “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor”; earning $16.1 million; followed by America Ferrera’s “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2″, $10.8 million; and “Step Brothers”, $8.9 million. That’s the Top 5 for last weekend’s rank.
The movie, starring Christian Bale and the late Heath Ledger is expected to defeat “Titanic” and stole the title of “#1 Box-Office Holder”. Still got a few more hundreds to go. But I believe Batman could handle it, my own personal faith on the movie!
Can BatPod race the cruise ship? Let’s wait for this week’s result…
