Unequal Pay in the New 90210 For Tori Spelling?
Tori Spelling had already agreed to join “90210“, the spin-off of 90’s hit television series “Beverly Hills 90210″, but that plan might not be working as smooth as it was planned to be.
It was reported that there’s a contract controversy, which makes Spelling re-considered about being part of the team. Insiders said that Spelling was hired to reprise her role as fashion boutique owner Donna Martin for just $10,000-$20,000 per episode. But then the other 2 alums; Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty were signed for $35,000-$50,000 a show.
Then, when Spelling found out her former co-stars were getting paid way more than she was, she got pissed and demanded equal pay. But the network’s lawyers have refused. So, rumors said that she has pulled out of the series, which premieres with a 2-hour special on September 2nd. “She thought she deserved parity, and she’s got a point”, said a source.
Hmm… that can be a trouble for the new series, especially for those loyal fans who excited to see the original cast back in the old zip code. Here’s a keyword: negotiate please!
