Natalie Portman develop her talent into something else other than acting, although it’s still not far from the movie industry.

The 27-year-old now directs, and her directorial debut will open the Venice International Film Festival’s short-film sidebar, with Portman expected to be on hand for the picture’s September 1 screening.

At the festival which runs from August 27 to September 6, she entered her 17-minute movie “Eve,” stars Lauren Bacall and Ben Gazzara. Venice’s organizers called it “a civilized comedy,” and it will screen in an out-of-competition slot.

The Harvard’s psychology faculty alum also still busy with her acting career. She is scheduled to star opposite Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal in the drama film “Brothers”, a remake of the 2004 Danish film with the same title. The movie planned to be released at the end of this year.

She already has a great career, and stepping up to do better. A great example, indeed. You go girl!
