The Dark Knight surrender to Tropic Thunder this week, after reigning for four consecutive weeks in the top of the box-office spot. Bat-Pod is slowing down, eventually.

The amazing Batman pulled in $16.8 million this week, making a total to $471.5 million in the pocket. The Dark Knight movie passed the original Star Wars ($461 million) and now stands as no. 2 on the all-time domestic charts, behind “Titanic” which grossed $600.8 million overall.

But it doesn’t mean a stopping down for “The Dark Knight”. The movie still expected to gain more in the upcoming weeks, even though had lost its crown. According to Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. studio’s head of distribution, they expects “The Dark Knight” to top out at about $530 million domestically.

Tropic Thunder is a comedy movie about four actors who thought they were shooting a Vietnam War epic in the Asian jungles, but apparently the set has been changed into real war situation without their consent.

The movie directed and co-wrote by Ben Stiller, with lots of stars involved, including himself. Jack Black and Robert Downey, Jr. are also in the movie, while Tom Cruise co-stars as a bald, egomaniacal studio boss.

It was the third R-rated comedy to open solidly in recent weeks, following “Pineapple Express” and “Step Brothers”. And raised its total to $37 million since opening Wednesday.

Yeah well, nothing lasts forever. That’s okay Batman, just kept on riding that Bad-Pod!
