Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani (People)
Gwen and Gavin are really suceeded when choosing unique names for their children.
38-year-old Gwen Stefani gave birth to Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale, on Thursday (8/21) in Los Angeles, at 12:46 p.m. and weighed 8 1/2 lbs. He joins his big brother Kingston in a happy family of rocker parents. The newly added family said in a statement, “Kingston, Gwen and Gavin Rossdale welcomed the newest member of their family. Mother, baby and family are all happy and healthy”.
The happy father, 42-year-old Rossdale, told in an interview that he and his wife were planned to follow friends’ advice and get a gift for Kingston -who just turn 2 last May- so he didn’t feel left out when his new sibling arrived. “Apparently when the baby comes home, you’ve got to bring a really good present for Kingston,” he said. And when talking about parenthood, the “Bush” frontman said, “It’s terrifying and exciting and brilliant”.
About the unique name, the couple haven’t giving out any statement yet. But after swirling around, so far, here some explanations of the name that we got; Zuma was taken from the Zuma Beach, a place where the couple love so much, they put it in their son’s first name.
Few baby names experts says, with a vocal on the behind, ‘a’, Zuma’s gender a bit unclear, because the name is quite feminime. The middle name, Nesta, was taken from the couple’s fondness of Jamaica, and Bob Marley in particular. It’s because Nesta was actually the first name given to the father of reggae, Marley.
Rock acted as addition and emphasizing the parents’ favorite music genre, kinda. His name truly represent the genre, right? and his first name kinda reminded me of my favorite ol’ school PC game, Zuma the frog.
But whatever his name and the meaning are, Zuma Nesta Rock definitely have become the new joy in the family. Welcome baby Zuma, and congrats to The Rossdales!
