Minnie Driver Gave Birth to a Boy

British actress Minnie Driver welcomed her first child, a baby boy.

According to Driver’s publicist Jessica Kolstad, the baby was born Friday in Los Angeles, weighed 9 pounds, 12 ounces. He was named Henry Story Driver. His father remained a secret until now, but Driver had once said in an interview that the dad will be involved in the baby’s life.

As she said in June, “He’s going to be a dad, so, yeah, he’s going to be there for the kid.” The 38-year-old actress also added, “I’m not getting married to this person and I don’t know what’s going to happen but everyone is cool about the situation”.

Driver first revealed in March that she was expecting, during her performance on Jay Leno’s “Tonight Show”. And now as a new mom, Driver says she plans on spending lots of time hanging out at the beach with her child. “I love the ocean and this baby will probably be surfing and swimming before it can walk”.

Driver received an Academy Award nomination for her supporting role in the 1997 film “Good Will Hunting”, where she also involved romantically with Matt Damon when they met on the movie’s set. She once engaged to actor Josh Brolin, but had a sudden breakup in 2001.

Driver currently stars in cable channel FX’s show “The Riches,” about a family of con artists. Besides a long list in her acting career, Driver is also a singer.

Well, not only acting and singing now, she has a new ‘job’ to add on the list. Congratulations new mom!
