Lily Allen’s New Album Release Date

British singer, Lily Allen has announced the release date for her upcoming album, February 9, 2009. The album is tentatively titled “Stuck On The Naughty Step”. Before the album’s launch, Allen will release a viral video, which she is set to film in the near future.

As the 23-year-old crooner wrote on her MySpace blog, “I am trying really hard to do this album with integrity. I want you all to know that it has been thought about by me, not just some thrown together last-minute industry bullshizz”.

She also shared about the extra material she was working on, “I’m working on extra stuff in the studio at the moment, it seems making an album isn’t enough these days. I am at my happiest in the studio so it works well for me, I just don’t want to put out sub-standard stuff”.

Allen’s first album “Alright, Still” was released in 2006, getting warm welcomes, and praises on the tracks. Her “Smile” song reached number one on the UK Singles Chart in July 2006. The album was voted the third best album of the year by British dance magazine, Mixmag. Then in 2007, it was nominated for the award of Best British Album at the BRIT Awards and for Best New Artist at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards. The album was also nominated for a 2008 Grammy Award in the category of “Best Alternative Music Album”.

Don’t know if Allen’s sophomore album can compete with the first one. But who knows, it might be reached even bigger achievements, right? Best of luck for the album, Lily!
