Alex Rodriguez and Wife Had Settled Their Divorce

Third baseman for the Yankees, Alex Rodriguez and wife Cynthia Scurtis had settled their bitter divorce battle.

As lawyers for the former couple said in a statement, “Cynthia and Alex Rodriguez have amicably resolved their dissolution of marriage proceedings. They deliberately engaged in a private negotiation. During the negotiations and resolution all decisions were made with the best interests of their children as the paramount concern”. Terms of the settlement were not released.

Rodriguez, who’s familiar with nickname A-Rod, married Scurtis on November 2002. The pair had two daughters from their marriage, 4-year-old Natasha Alexander, and 5-months-old Ella Alexander. Scurtis filed for divorce last July, saying that Rodriguez “emotionally abandoned” her and their children and had a series of affairs. Her lawyer also said that Rodriguez’s (rumored) “affair of the heart” with singer Madonna was the “last straw” for Scurtis.

In Cynthia’s filing, she asked to keep their $12 million Coral Gables, Fla., mansion. 35-year-old Scurtis also wanted a cut of his earnings during their marriage. Rodriguez reportedly made $28 million this season. But, in his response, the baseball star argued that the divorce settlement should be determined by their prenup, which Cynthia signed a month before their wedding.

Beside Madonna’s name who got brought up in the high-profile divorce of A-Rod and Cynthia, Lenny Kravitz’s name also been brought up as the guy who -might be- involved romantically with Scurtis. Hmm… the more the merrier?
