George Michael Say Sorry For His Arrest

The “Careless Whisper” singer, George Michael was arrested around Hampstead Heath in north London last Friday after being discovered with what police term say were Class A and a Class C drugs, said the authorities. FYI, Crack Cocaine is classified as Class A. He was arrested at an underground public men’s room, said several reports.

According to more detailed reports Sunday, Scotland Yard press spokesman says, “A 45-year-old man male was arrested on Sept. 19 in the Hampstead Heath area on suspicion of the possession of drugs.” The spokesman added, “He was taken to a north London police station where he was interviewed and received a caution for possession of Class A and Class C drugs”.

Also on Sunday, the singer released a statement through his rep, “I want to apologize to my fans for screwing up again, and to promise them I’ll sort myself out. And to say sorry to everybody else, just for boring them”.

That’s because this is not the 45-year-old singer’s first encounter with drugs problem. Back in 2006, he was found slumped over the wheel of his car in London and later admitted driving while unfit due to drugs. He was banned from driving for two years and sentenced to 100 hours of community service.

This British pop star has sold nearly 100 million records worldwide, with seven US number one singles, 11 number one singles in Britain and six number one albums. He is winning a global fan base, and is estimated to be worth as much as $200 million.

Last month he wrapped up his first tour for 15 years with concerts in London and Copenhagen and said they were his last ever arena and stadium shows. He has hinted that he may not tour again, so that the nearly two-year world tour is his final one.

Looks like his song “Freedom” is an irony right now. Ouch. Hope you learn from your mistakes, George!
