Natalie Portman is Now Single

The stripper in “Closer”, Natalie Portman, reportedly had separated from Devendra Banhart, her indie musician boyfriend.

27-year-old Portman began dating folk-rock singer Banhart, also 27, around the beginning of April this year. Portman was the model of Devendra’s music video, “Carmensita,” which was shot last March. Later on, the couple were seen very intimate together, and showing some PDAs in the public oftenly. A source said at the time, “They got together right after the video shoot”.

Besides spotted kissing in the streets of New York, the pair had spent their quality time together by travelling to Cannes, and to Portman’s native land, Israel. And not only involved romantically, they also had worked together professionally. As a fan of Banhart’s music, Portman had asked Banhart to donate his track, “There’s Always Something Happening”, to the FINCA benefit compilation put together by her on iTunes. The benefit was called, “Big Change: Songs for FINCA”. She then returned the favor by forgoing her usual fee to appear in the video.

Portman’s last movie is historical drama “The Other Boleyn Girl”. The actress is reported currently busy filming more movie projects for next year, and embracing her new profession as director. Too bad, the romance didn’t last that long. But hopefully this was the best for both of them. Portman and Banhart had so bright future ahead.
