American Idol champ, David Cook is counting the days before his first single “Lights On” hit the radios later this week.

After months of planning, processing and recording, Cook is ready to let the world hear his recipe. The first single is planned to be released this week, and is available on iTunes Sept. 30. With many great names behind the song, this former bartender has high hopes for the single. “Lights On” was co-written by rocker Chris Cornell who has fronted both Audioslave and Soundgarden, and is being produced by Grammy winning producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day and Kid Rock).

Don’t worry about craving for more, because “Lights On” will only be an appetizer. The main course, Cook’s debut album is set to be launched on November 18. For the album, Cook’s producer, Cavallo has enlisted the help of some of the hottest names in music to participate in it. This album is predicted will follow some of previous American Idol alumnus’s success.
