Babyface Got a New Baby

Singer and songwriter Babyface must be jumping joys right now, because he’s enjoying his days becoming a dad again.

The Grammy-award winning R&B singer, whose real name Kenneth Edmonds, and his girlfriend Nicole Pantenburg have welcomed their first child together, a daughter, named Peyton Nicole Edmonds on Sept 9. Peyton was born in Los Angeles at 6:55 p.m. on Sept. 9, weighing 5 lbs., 7 oz. Babyface shared his happiness recently, saying that “Nicole and I couldn’t be happier to have a new baby girl in the family. And my two sons are thrilled to have a little sister”.

Babyface already had two sons; 12-year-old Brandon and 7-year-old Dylan from his previous marriage to ex-wife Tracey Edmonds. In October 2005, the couple got divorced after married for thirteen years. Looks like Babyface is already healed from the scars of his failed first marriage and is now happy with his new family.

After three years not producing any albums since his last “Grown & Sexy” album in 2005, Babyface is now back on the play. This 50-year-old singer has recently signed a new deal with Island Records to release his new album. The album was released last week on September 18, entitled “Playlist”.

It consists of eight cover songs including Bob Dylan’s Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door, Dan Fogelberg’s Longer, Dave Loggin’s Please Come To Boston, Bread’s Diary, Jim Croce’s Time In A Bottle, Eric Clapton’s Wonderful Tonight and James Taylor’s Fire & Rain and Shower The People. There are also two original songs in the album entitled “Not Going Nowhere” and “The Soldier Song”. It will be the first album on the newly re-launched Mercury Records Label.
