Miley Cyrus
In a celebrity world, you could have two birthdays. One, is on the same date the day you were born. And two, is when you have a concert as a celebration of your birthday, even though it’s still very early to celebrate it, but you do it anyway. Yeah, i confused myself.
Miley Cyrus had the second one on Sunday. She’s actually will have her sweet sixteen on November 23, but the teen sensation got an early special birthday celebration at Disneyland, surrounded by family, friends, fans, and much more celebrities. The theme park was shut down exclusively for Miley, and the event got more exclusive with a four-song performance by the birthday girl herself, a fireworks display above Sleeping Beauty Castle and 16 giant inflatable candles. Definitely fits the idea as “the happiest place on Earth”.
The evening started with Miley and her fellow celebrity friends like Tyra Banks, David Archuleta and Demi Lovato strolling down a large purple carpet. Why not red, you ask? That’s because purple is Miley’s favorite color. On the purple carpet, (almost) 16-year-old Miley shared about the birthday present she loved the most, “My dog that I just got named Sophie. I’m so excited”. Sophie is a Maltipoo, a cross between a Maltese and a poodle, which was given to Miley as a surprise from her parents.
Miley’s father, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, opened up for his daughter’s birthday bash with a few of his own songs. The rumored-boyfriend Justin Gaston, entered the stage playing guitar, joined Billy Ray, and Miley’s older sis Brandi to sing “Achy Breaky Heart”. The star of the event, looking beautiful donned a white ruffled skirt and jersey-like vest with “Sweet 16″ printed on the back for her truncated concert. At one point, Cyrus boarded a boat in the park’s Rivers of America and crooned such tunes as “Breakout” and “G.N.O”.
The event was attended by 5,000 people, more or less, and cost $250 a ticket. It’s not that cheap to share the celebration, indeed. Throughout the night, the “Hannah Montana” star seemed very enjoying the party, and also heard screaming happily, “This is the most amazing sweet 16 that a girl could have!” Closer to the end of the event, the singer/actress -didn’t look tired at all- said, “Its been a long night. but I’m still ready to party and ride some rides!”.
Disney used the event to promote their upcoming “What Will You Celebrate?” marketing initiative, which encourages tourists to take “celebration vacations” with their families. Beginning in 2009, guests at Disneyland and Walt Disney World in Florida can gain free theme park admission on their birthday with a valid ID and proof of birth date.
Let’s celebrate a birthday at Disneyland then! A very happy early birthday, Miley!
