Lil Wayne Is Preparing His Next Album

The success of “Tha Carter III” didn’t make Lil’ Wayne spoiled, or holding back his creativity. The rapper is reported currently working on the next album, planned to be called “Tha Carter IV.” Hmm… why is the title sounds so familiar?

26-year-old Lil’ Wayne, whose real name Dwayne Carter, said on his ESPN blog last September, “I’ve been busy in the studio, and right now I’m working on a mix tape, along with Tha Carter IV”. He added, “The mix tape you can expect real soon. It’s called “Dedication 3″, and it’s going to be Gangsta Grillz by DJ Drama. And then right after that, I’m putting that same mix tape out with 20 extra songs for free on my website”.

His biggest album so far, is “Tha Carter III” that selling more than a million copies in its first week of release. The album was released on June 10, 2008. The first single “Lollipop” featuring Static became his most commercially successful song at that point, topping the Billboard Hot 100, making it the first Top 10 single for Lil Wayne as a solo artist, as well as his first #1 on the chart. Then, his third single, “Got Money” featuring T-Pain, peaked at #13 on the Billboard 100. On July 14, the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) certified the album two times platinum.

Hopefully ‘Tha Carter IV’ could follow the success of its predecessor. Got my finger crossed for you Lil’ Wayne!
