Former Idol Paris Bennett Gave Birth To A Baby Girl

Former American Idol contestant from the fifth season, Paris Bennett has welcomed a baby girl, as said by her rep on Monday.

After struggling in labor for five hours in a Minnesota hospital, Bennett -who was nicknamed “Princess P” on her idol days- blessed with her firstborn who she named Egypt. (Will Paris named her granddaughter Tokyo someday? Well, just a thought.) Egypt was born at 3:36 p.m. Monday afternoon (10/6), weighed in at 5 lbs., 15 oz. The new mother is reportedly doing well.

Since Bennett announced in June that she was expecting, the father of the child has chosen to stay under the radar. Egypt is the first child for 20-year-old Bennett and her partner. According to Bennett’s publicist, “Paris’s mother Jamecia Bennett and her family is filled with excitement and welcomes their bundle of joy”. While the singer shared her happiness of becoming a mother, saying, “I’m so excited to finally see my little angel – and man, does she have lungs on her. I guess she’s gearing up to be the next American Idol”. That’s right Paris, because sometimes a fruit didn’t fall far from its tree.

Beside her personal happy news, Princess P has another happy news to share. Following her 2007’s album, “Princess P”, she plans to release her Christmas album on October 14, entitled “A Royal Christmas”. Her second album is also reportedly in the process, scheduled to be released next year. Bennett is definitely having a double joy right now! Congrats!
