Taylor Hicks

Another news from the Idol’s alumnus. Apparently, they are still not forgotten (yet).

American Idol’s champ from season 5, Taylor Hicks is announcing the release date of his next album, that is still untitled, on February 10, 2009. Grey-haired Hicks will be releasing the album through the indie company Artist to Market with an assist from his own label, Modern Whomp Records, to “connect more directly with audiences”. Hmm… I guess so. Well, just to freshen your memory, Hicks was getting dumped by J Records earlier this year because he has the lowest selling American Idol winners album.

The ‘Soul Patrol’ man has already begun work on the follow-up to his platinum-selling debut, teaming with producer Simon Climie, who has previously collaborated with several great names in music; Eric Clapton and Carlos Santana. As Hicks said on the album’s progress, “I’m very much enjoying being in the studio with Simon and working on the new album and look forward to releasing it”.

This 32-year-old singer is not only busy working on his next album, but he is also enjoying his theater work. Hicks is currently on Broadway in “Grease”, playing Teen Angel. Well, good luck for the next album Taylor!

Hopefully it will have a better sales record than the previous one, and will pleasure your fans. Best Wishes!

Mr. Hicks’ album does not need to sell better than his post AI release. As an independent venture if it comes close to doing that well it will be a huge success. At least this time he can be sure hes supported by the record company.
I can not wait for it.
