DJ AM

It is nice to have such good friends when you’re recovering from a nearly-killed accident. DJ AM knows that for sure.

As DJ AM -whose real name is Adam Goldstein- continues to recover from the tragic plane accident that happened last month, friends of his are preparing to welcome him home with a special benefit concert/homecoming party. Several famous deejays that will join the event are Mark Ronson, Cut Chemist and Steve Aoki. They will perform at the bash that will be held on October 14 at the Avalon nightclub in Hollywood, California.

According organizers of the event, DJ AM has been “a close friend … for many years. We owe him a debt of gratitude that we can never repay, but we hope this helps just a bit”. Tickets (available at Wantickets.com) cost $20 – with all proceeds going to the memorial funds established crash victims. But Goldstein himself hasn’t confirmed about his presence at the event. As said by the disc jockey’s publicist, Jenni Weinman, she didn’t know if he would attend the event.

35-year-old Goldstein and Blink-182’s ex drummer, Travis Barker were the only two survivors from the fiery plane crash last month in South Carolina. The accident that happened September 19 at the main airport in Columbia killed a pilot, a co-pilot and two other passengers. He and Barker were recently released from a burn hospital in Augusta, Georgia; Barker is now being treated at a hospital in Los Angeles. Doctors have said they expect both men to fully recover.

Big applause for the great act from DJ AM’s friends. May the event success, and both survivors getting better each day. Get well soon Goldstein and Barker!
