Metallica Will Have a UK Tour
With the success of their latest album, especially because of the album’s warm welcome in Europe, heavy metal band Metallica had announced the dates for their tour in the UK next year. This will be their first full UK tour since October 1996.
The band’s ninth album Death Magnetic, have topped the charts in 32 countries worldwide, it has been sold an estimated 100 million records. As of September 2008, Metallica is the fifth highest-selling music artist, selling a total of 50,111,000 albums in the U.S. alone. The album also proves that Metallica are one of the most popular bands of today, and the biggest selling heavy metal act.
The four members of the band; James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo will perform seven UK dates in 2009. As the band said about the future shows, “We can’t wait to visit the UK again, so strap in, hang on, and get ready for the nuttiness to begin.” All of the concerts will be performed in the round, as their fans-only album release show at London’s O2 Arena was. Machine Head and the Sword will provide support for the dates, tickets for which go on sale at 09:00 BST on Friday October 24th.
