Scarlett Johansson Will Host A Nobel Concert

The Nanny Diaries actress, Scarlett Johansson is not only busy with her newlywed life with actor Ryan Reynolds, but she is also busy prepared herself to be the host of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize concert.

23-year-old Johansson had been chosen to be one of the co-host of the 2008 Nobel Peace Concert in Oslo on December 11. Organizers said Monday that the event will honouring this year’s laureate Martti Ahtisaari of Finland, a peace mediator and former President for his efforts to mediate world conflicts. Beside Johansson, there will be other famous names as the co-host, and their names will be announced in coming weeks.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee’s non-voting secretary, Geir Lundestad, said that they’re extremely pleased Ms. Johansson will join the Nobel Peace Prize Concert, because Johansson’s compassion and influence will help tremendously in their mission of spreading the global message of peace. While Johansson herself said, “I am truly honoured to be hosting this year’s Nobel Peace Prize concert and look forward to joining together with so many wonderful artists to pay tribute to Ahtisaari. His tireless efforts to promote peace on a global scale are an inspiration to us all.”

Ahtisaari will formally receive the prize at a ceremony in the Norwegian capital on December 10, on the eve of the concert which televised in up to 100 countries, and is being the most popular event on the Nobel calendar. The show featuring a number of stars; including Diana Ross, Canadian singer Feist and Norway’s Marit Larsen.
