The clash between The Matrix actor, Keanu Reeves and a paparazzi is back on heat last Tuesday!

The actor who played as a driver in Speed told a Los Angeles court that he did not knock down a paparazzo photographer to avoid having his picture taken, saying the man stumbled while walking backward. Reeves testified for about an hour in the civil lawsuit brought against him by Alison Silva. The photographer claimed in the lawsuit that he had lost earnings because of injuries to his wrist in the March 2007 incident.

According to the lawsuit, it was started when the 44-year-old actor was pulling away from the curb in his Porsche outside a private home in the affluent Ranchos Palos Verdes area when “in a sudden, erratic and dangerous manner, (he) drove forward and struck” photographer Alison Silva. Reeves was there to visit his sister. But Reeves said he was certain that the only time his car made contact with Silva was when the paparazzo bent over and put his hand on the hood of his car. He then began stepping backward and fell.

While on Tuesday, it was Silva’s turn to take the stand. He showed the jury a scar on his left wrist and said that he might need surgery to fully repair the damage. Silva got emotional when he said that the injury left him unable to work and he has struggled to pay his medical bills. For the plaintiff, orthopedist Dr. Steven Brourman testified that Silva’s wrist fracture was likely the result of his run-in with Reeves, and not aggravation of an injury he sustained while playing soccer when he was 12—a preexisting condition both sides acknowledged.

The doctor also said that he didn’t find it odd that Silva did not complain of pain at the scene. Accident sites can be chaotic, he said, and information gathered on-site isn’t always reliable. Brourman later added, if Silva undergoes surgery, his future medical costs could start at $50,000.

Case like this a bit difficult, because we all know, celebrity needs privacy, while photographer needs story. It looks like the road is still long, fellas. Well, may the right man wins!
