Simon Cowell Broke Up With His Girlfriend

Simon Cowell may not lose his favorite singer on a contest recently, but he had just lost his longtime girlfriend, Terri Seymour.

48-year-old American Idol judge, Simon Cowell and his girlfriend, British television presenter, Terri Seymour were not a couple anymore. This former couple who had been together for six years had split, as confirmed by Cowell’s pulicist, Max Clifford. “Terri phoned Simon and finished it in September, about six weeks ago. They are going to remain close friends. Simon thinks the world of Terri and that isn’t going to change. He also understands her reason for ending it.”

In late 2002, Seymour first met Cowell. After she interviewed him for a show, they started dating. Once in 2006, a storm hit their relationship. A British newspaper reported that Cowell had cheated on Seymour with model and socialite Jasmine Lennard. They stayed strong. But this time, apparently the storm had hit its target.

It was reported that 34-year-old Seymour and Cowell had split due to Cowell’s unwillingness to settle down and have children. According to Clifford, “In the past Terri has said that she wants kids but that just isn’t Simon. Nobody else is involved, certainly not on Simon’s side.”

In American Idol, Cowell is notorious as a judge for his ‘cruel’ comments and often controversial criticisms, plus insults, about contestants and their singing abilities, or lack thereof. But in the end, he actually didn’t mean to hurt the contestants feelings, he just wants to boost their spirits, in a-hate-but-i-love-you kinda way.

Cowell was also known for his ability to spot the raw talent from a contestant. His latest ‘findings’ is Leona Lewis, British singer who’s famous for her hits; Bleeding Love and Better in Time.

With this break-up, does Simon will be ‘easier’ on contestants for the next season of American Idol, or even more bitter? hmm.., hopefully the first one! And hopefully he will soon find a new love!
