No More Love Match For Boris Becker

Boris Becker may have been a legendary tennis player, but he had to lose another game of love.

Becker and his fiancée, 25-year-old Alessandra Meyer-Wölden had confirmed the break off of their engagement on Tuesday. The former professional tennis player from Germany confirmed the news, by saying, “Yes, it’s true, unfortunately.” He was reportedly had told his friends and family, including his ex-wife Barbara, over the weekend.

The couple were previously announced their engagement in August. 40-year-old Becker had known Alessandra -simply called Sandy- since she was a child. Her father, Axel Meyer-Wölden, was Becker’s most trusted advisor and manager in the 1990s.

Becker had been married once, to actress and designer Babrbara Feltus. The have two children together; 14-year-old Noah Gabriel and 9-year-old Elias. Becker had another child, daughter Anna, the result of a brief sexual encounter in 1999, that had been admitted the paternity after a DNA test.

Looking at his achievements; Becker is a six-time Grand Slam singles champion, an Olympic gold medalist, and the youngest-ever winner of the men’s singles title at Wimbledon at the age of 17. After retired from tennis career, Becker wrote an autobiography, became a television presenter, and now has his own personal line of rackets and apparel.

Too bad the engagement didn’t work, but hopefully both maintain a good relationship. And hopefully soon Becker will have another love match to play!
