Hugh Jackman is People’s Sexiest Man Alive

Announced on Wednesday, People magazine has crowned actor Hugh Jackman as this year’s “sexiest man alive” in its annual issue. yumm…

Executive editor at People, Elizabeth Sporkin, said about their choice for the title, “Hugh Jackman is the real package — humble, romantic, drop-dead gorgeous and a star of the moment. He is so much more than his movies — that’s sexy.” The magazine described this Hollywood heartthrob on its website as a 6ft 2in brawny triple threat who can “sing, dance, and wield a weapon.”

As the article said, 40-year-old Jackman wields weapons with the best of Hollywood action heroes, and he sings romantic ballads to his wife of 12 years, Deborra-Lee Furness. The Deception actor also bakes pancakes for his children, Oscar and Ava, when he is not busy sweating it out at the gym.

Jackman told People that his wife had joked with him after being informed about the honor, “God bless her, she said, ‘I could’ve told them that years ago!’ And then she said, ‘Obviously, Brad (Pitt) wasn’t available this year.’” Brad Pitt, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Damon and George Clooney were those who’s on top of the list previously.

Jackman is also the first Australian who earned the title. He had appeared in several successful movies, such as; X-Men trilogy and The Prestige. He even won a Tony award, Broadway’s highest honor, for his role in The Boy from Oz. Jackman will soon be seen in Baz Luhrmann’s epic film drama Australia, alongside fellow Australian Nicole Kidman, which will debut in the United States next week.

This Wolverine is one sexy beast, alright… and he definitely deserves the title! Rawrrr!
