Kate Walsh of ‘Private Practice’ and Husband Are Divorcing

Sad news came from Private Practice star, Kate Walsh.

Last Tuesday, Walsh’s husband, Alex M. Young, filed for divorce after a year of marriage in Los Angeles. According to court papers, his petition cites irreconcilable differences, with no further details. The pair released a joint statement through the publicists saying, “The couple remain on friendly terms and sincerely hope the media will respect their privacy during this difficult time.”

The couple got engaged May last year. Then, the 41-year-old actress and 37-year-old Young got married September 2007 in the Ojai Presbyterian Church, in the town of Ojai, just north of Los Angeles, and have no children together. Young is a production co-president at 20th Century Fox.

Walsh became a familiar face in the television after she got a role in ABC’s popular medical drama, Grey’s Anatomy. She played the role of Dr. Addison Montgomery, the wife of McDreamy, Meredith Grey’s love interest. Walsh was in the series for about three years. Then in 2007, she took the major role for the spin-off of the series, titled Private Practice. The spin-off series is now in its second season.

Too bad Walsh cannot heal her marriage like her character in the series did for disease. The marriage only lasted for 15 months…, but hopefully the divorce is taken for their best interest. Anyway, best wishes for both!
