Macaulay Culkin’s Sister Died in an Accident

Many accidents happened to actor/actress’s siblings lately. After a shooting happened to Mark Ruffalo’s brother, and later on took his life.., this time, sad news came from Macaulay Culkin.

The elder sister of actor Macaulay Culkin, 29-year-old Dakota, was struck and killed by a car in Los Angeles, police confirmed Thursday. The accident happened when she stepped off the curb and in front of a moving vehicle on the west side of Los Angeles, just before 11 p.m. on Tuesday. She was rushed to UCLA Hospital with massive head trauma, but could not be saved. Dakota died from her injuries the following day.

According to the LAPD spokesman Richard French, “The driver stopped, rendered aid, and identified himself as required by law. Detectives determined that the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol and that no crime was committed.” While Macaulay Culkin’s spokeswoman, Michelle Bega said it was a terrible tragic accident and “We ask that the media respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time.”

28-year-old Macaulay Culkin is the third child of seven Culkins. 32-year-old Shane is the eldest, Dakota was the second, then Macaulay, 26-year-old Kieran is next, 24-year-old Quinn, 21-year-old Christian and 19-year-old Rory as the last child. Macaulay became actors, folowed by his two younger brothers; Kieran and Rory.

Macaulay is best known for starring in a string of hit comedies in the early 1990s including Home Alone and Home Alone 2. He was regarded as the most successful child-actor since Shirley Temple at that time.

Although Macaulay hadn’t had major role in the movies in his adult time, but he got many praises when appeared as a guest star in comedy series Will & Grace, back in 2003. He also played alongside Mandy Moore in Saved!, a movie that was proved controversial among many in America’s Christian community.
