Jennifer Hudson Will Be Back on Stage at The Super Bowl

Good news for fans of former American Idol star, and this is not a rumor!

Actress and singer Jennifer Hudson will be back on the stage of Super Bowl. 27-year-old Hudson will sing the U.S. national anthem at the big event in Tampa Bay, Florida, on February 1 and it will be her first public performance since the shooting tragedy that happened to her family.

The news was confirmed Wednesday by NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy, who said that Hudson will open the NBC broadcast of the NFL, as a statement of her return to the career she loves following the slayings of her 57-year-old mother, 29-year-old brother and 7-year-old nephew back in October.

Not only Hudson will appear on Super Bowl, she is also scheduled to sing at the MusiCares Person of the Year show, an event leading up to the 51st annual Grammy Awards that will be held a few days later after The Super Bowl. She is nominated for four awards at the February 8 Grammy Awards, including her self-titled debut release that is nominated as best R&B album.

Besides Hudson on Super Bowl, rock legend Bruce Springsteen already has been announced as a singer during half-time slot during the game. Hopefully Hudson’s participation on the most watched U.S. television broadcast of the year will boost her spirit up.
