It’s the latest update from Hayden Panettiere’s dad domestic violence case.

Alan Panettiere, the father of Heroes star Hayden Panettiere, pleaded no contest Thursday to misdemeanor battery for allegedly hitting his wife, and was sentenced to two years probation, as said by Los Angeles prosecutors.

He was ordered by the Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel to complete 52 weeks of domestic violence counseling and pay $400 in fines.

Lucky for him, because if it’s not turned out that way, 49-year-old Alan could have been sentenced to up to one year in jail for the misdemeanor battery charge from the assault he made to his wife, Lesley, August last year. Panettiere was also ordered not to “harass, strike or threaten” his wife.

Panettiere made headlines last August when he got arrested after striking the actress’s mother, Lesley Vogel, in the face during an argument. The incident happened right after the family were seen at a benefit event hosted by Hayden. The couple already had an argument at the event, said several eyewitnesses. He was later released on bail, and giving out statement that the incident was a “misunderstanding” and that “nothing actually happened.” Alan Panettiere is set to return to court on July 30 for a progress report.

Well, hopefully after these results came in, the family will still be okay and didn’t bother the 19-year-old’s concentration to continuing her role as Claire Bennett, saving the world with other heroes. Keep up the good act, Hayden!
