Nicollette Sheridan is Leaving “Desperate Housewives”

Edie Britt will soon be missed on Wisteria Lane.

That’s because the actress who plays sexy divorcee Edie, Nicollette Sheridan, is leaving Desperate Housewives. A spokeswoman for ABC confirmed the news on Wednesday, but gave no further details about when or how the departure of Sheridan’s character will be. The actress’s publicist hasn’t made any comments either, but it is rumored that Edie will die in a car accident scene.

45-year-old Sheridan plays the blonde realter since 2004. The comedy-drama itself is one of ABC’s most successful series. The show is a fan favorite with all the intrigues, and -of course- because of the stars in it; Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria Parker. Too bad Sheridan will be no longer one of the housewives. Edie Britt’s final episode is scheduled to be aired in April 2009.

Bye bye Edie… we will miss you!
