British Singer M.I.A. Delivered a Baby Boy

Apparently, last week is a Valentine week full of love and blessings!

Paper Planes singer, M.I.A. is a mom now! The British singer delivered a baby boy on February 11, but details on the new son were still wrapped. 31-year-old singer whose real name is Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam, announcing the happy news on her MySpace page on Saturday. As she wrote, the baby is “healthy, fine, beautiful and the most amazing thing ever on this planet.”

The father of the baby is Benjamin Brewer, singer and guitarist for the band The Exit. He is the son of Canadian liquor scion Edgar Bronfman, chairman and CEO of Warner Music Group.

Last Sunday, despite experiencing labor contractions, M.I.A. performed at the Grammy Awards. Her single Paper Planes received a Grammy nomination for record of the year, but got beat by Please Read the Letter from Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. The single was included in her second album, Kala. She also contributed songs for the Oscar-nominated movie, Slumdog Millionaire, which included the collaboration O Saya. The soundtrack was released in late 2008 via her music label, N.E.E.T.
