Battered Picture of Rihanna Causing Internet Buzz

Celebrity website TMZ.com, posted a picture that they acclaimed as Rihanna with bruises, scratches and swelling face, as the results of Chris Brown’s assault on Sunday, February 8. The photo had caused pro-contra in many websites and forums.

TMZ posted the picture on Thursday night, a close-up of Rihanna with her eyes closed, bruises and cuts were seen all over her face, especially on her forehead, lips and cheeks. TMZ did not add details on how they got the photo, when it was taken or by whom.

To suspicion if the photo was originated from Los Angeles Police Department, Officer Jason Lee responded by saying that the agency hasn’t released any images of the woman who accused Brown, and will not release evidence photos. A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney also said all evidence related to the case against Brown is still with police.

Although there’s no confirmation if Rihanna was the woman in the photo, but the injuries shown in the photo were consistent with the injuries Rihanna sustained. The woman also has a tattoo of Roman numerals on her left shoulder, which a media once photograph Rihanna with the same exact tattoo.

Brown turned himself in on February 8, several hours after the incident. He was booked on suspicion of making felony criminal threats to a woman that authorities have not publicly identified, but later confirmed as Brown’s longtime girlfriend, Rihanna. The case is now still in progress, prosecutors have asked police to provide more information before deciding whether to press charges against Brown. If found guilty, the 19-year-old R&B prince could face domestic violence charges.

Last Sunday, Brown released a statement, apologizing for the incident. He said, “Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired.” Brown also said he would like to seek counseling of his pastor, his mother and his other loved ones.
