The star of The Hills, Lauren Conrad is getting closer to make her new career as an author legit.

As we quoted from People, 23-year-old Conrad had revealed on her blog that her debut book, titled L.A. Candy will be released on June 16, and it is being published for young adults by HarperCollins.

This first book from three series tells a story of 19-year-old girl named Jane Roberts “who moves to L.A. and unexpectedly becomes the star of a reality television show.” In the book Jane’s best friend is named Scarlett.

Hmm… did the story ring a bell? Well maybe, that’s because as Conrad had previously said, the book is “loosely inspired” by her own experience. No wonder it sounds sooo familiar!

Talking about her book, Conrad -who gain fame from the reality drama on MTV- said, “Some of the characters may symbolize people in my life. but it is in no way calling anyone out.” She also added, “I’ve always loved books that I could lose myself in, ones that would transport me to another place, but had characters I could relate to. So, I’m so excited to have this opportunity to write books like that for other readers.”

Conrad is said to be seen in the upcoming episodes of drama series 90210, playing Kayla Andress. She will also appear in the fifth season of The Hills that is planned to be aired in this spring, and reportedly as the final season of the series.
