Chris Brown’s star is not as bright as it used to. And it applied on his charm to the kids too.
Yesterday, the With You singer pulled out himself of the upcoming Kids’ Choice Awards, after Nickelodeon -the event’s network- refused to bow on Brown’s nominations a day before (Tuesday), although there’s much of public pressure and controversies on Brown’s nominations over his alleged assault last February.
As the singer’s spokesman said about his stepping-down act, “Chris very much appreciates the support of his fans and the honor they have paid him in the way of nominations for Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song. Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding the incident last month has shifted the focus from the music to whether he should be allowed to be among those nominated.”
To Brown’s decision, the kid-friendly network said in a statement, “We are confirming that Chris Brown has decided to withdraw his nominations from the Kids’ Choice Awards. We agree with and respect his decision and are looking forward to presenting a great event for our audience.”
Spokesman of this 19-year-old star also added, “While Chris would like to speak to his fans directly about this and other issues, pending legal proceedings preclude his doing so at this time. Once the matter before him has been resolved, he intends to do so.”
Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards will take place March 28 in Los Angeles. And although Brown is no longer on the list, his on-again girlfriend Rihanna, has her name nominated in the Favorite Song category with Don’t Stop the Music.
It’s a good choice of Brown to lay low right now. Anyhow, it’s one of the consequences of his brutal action. May he learned the lessons well…
