DJ AM Filed a Lawsuit (aceshowbiz.com)
DJ AM wants to make sure that his plane accident last year isn’t forgotten. And he’s doing it by filing a $20 million lawsuit.
In his lawsuit that was filed last Friday, the high-profile disc jockey is suing the plane’s manufacturer, Learjet, and several other companies.
This 35-year-old spinner, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, is seeking $10 million for medical expenses, lost earnings, profits and economic damages and another $10 million related to non-economic losses, such as mental and physical pain, making a grand total of at least $20 million. A jury will decide any damage award if the case goes to trial.
Looking back at the plane crash in South Carolina last year, the accident killed four people; 31-year-old pilot Sarah Lemmon, 52-year-old co-pilot James Bland, 25-year-old security guard Charles Still, and Barker’s assistant, 29-year-old Chris Baker. Barker and DJ AM survived, but were hospitalized for weeks with serious burns.
Last year, Barker, DJ AM, Charles Still’s mother and Chris Baker’s widow have filed wrongful death lawsuits against several companies they allege were responsible. But the companies that being sued are seeking a trial delay until after a government investigation of the September 19 crash is complete, because the defendants have denied any responsibility for the crash.
I’m crossing my fingers for justice to be served. Good luck DJ AM!
