It’s a tragic loss for us, and especially for theatrical world, actress Natasha Richardson died at the age of 45.

The sad news issued in a statement Wednesday, by Richardson’s family in Los Angeles. As spokesman Alan Nierob said, “Liam Neeson, his sons, and the entire family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Natasha.”

Natasha, wife of actor Liam Neeson, fell during a beginner’s ski lesson Monday at Mont Tremblant ski resort in Quebec, Canada. She was actually seemed fine afterward, but about an hour later she complained that she didn’t feel well. She was eventually taken to hospital in Ste-Agathe, Quebec, and then had been hospitalized in New York since Tuesday.

Her condition worsened, and the accident apparently led into tragic death. Richardson died after suffering a severe brain injury. It came as a shock, but a pain that was suffered in the head, even the smallest one and that leaves no visible injury can sometimes cause a serious brain damage, for example swelling or blood clots. Maybe Natasha’s head injury got more serious that it actually thought.

Richardson is an award-winning actress who’s a member of Britain’s Redgrave acting dynasty. She is the daughter of Vanessa Redgrave, an Oscar-winning actress and late film director Tony Richardson. She made her debut at age four in her father’s movie, The Charge of the Light Brigade. And she also appeared in other stage experiences, including Ophelia in Hamlet and Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

But Richardson is perhaps best known for her Broadway stage roles, especially when she won a Tony award for her leading role in 1998’s Cabaret. In the big screen, she played the mother of an 11-year-old Lindsay Lohan in the 1998 film The Parent Trap, and appeared in Maid in Manhattan with Jennifer Lopez in 2002.

Richardson met Neeson when they made their Broadway debuts in 1993, co-starring in Anna Christie, Eugene O’Neill’s drama about a former prostitute and the sailor who falls in love with her. The couple got married in July 1994, and worked together in that same year in Jodie Foster drama, Nell. They had two sons; 13-year-old Michael and 12-year-old Daniel Jack.

Her latest movie role was as a strict English boarding school headmistress in the 2008 teen comedy Wild Child. It might be the last of her appearance in a movie, but definitely won’t be the last of her in so many hearts and memories. Goodbye Natasha, we will miss you.
