Zac Efron Won’t Be in Footloose Remake

Not so happy news for Zac Efron’s fans who expected the High School Musical star will soon be seen in the remake of classic dance movie, Footloose.
On Tuesday, Paramount Pictures released a statement that 21-year-old Efron is no longer attached to the upcoming film.
No specific reasons were given about his dropping out, but the studio also said that it remains committed to director Kenny Ortega and producers; Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.
Efron won’t be in Footloose anymore, but don’t be so dissapointed, because his upcoming movie will soon be released. Beside Me and Orson Welles, he also will appear in a movie titled 17 Again, that will be released April 17.
The film tells a story about a middle-aged guy who wakes up as his teenaged self and finding the meaning of life through his flashback experience. In the movie, Efron played as the teenager of Mike O’Donnell, the main character.
Ever since gained his fame in the High School Musical franchise as Troy Bolton, this hearthrob fellow is now spreading his wings by doing other movies, along with many different -and more adult- roles. Efron’s future project including the sequel of 2007’s movie musical Hairspray. Hairspray 2 is scheduled to be released in 2010.
