Fast and Furious

Fast & Furious stepping up the gear, and get the top spot in the box office race this week.

The fourth installment of car-racing action movie series got an awesome figures on its opening weekend, a 72.5 million dollars that is. With that amount, the movie has the best achievement so far this year.

The movie -starred by “original parts”, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker- also beat last week’s champion, Monsters vs. Aliens. The $59.3 million debut for DreamWorks Animation was only reigned for a week. This week, Monsters vs. Aliens slipped to second place with $33.5 million.

According to Universal Studios, the film cost about $85 million to make, but the reunion of Diesel and Walker definitely paid off. Fans apparently excited for the anticipated duo, since their first teamed-up racer in 2001. Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster completed the cast from the original.

The new movie has Diesel as fugitive driver, looking for a revenge… while Walker is an undercover cop who aim the boss of drug cartel. The guys joined forces to get both intentions done, got involved in more illegal races, of course.
