An Auction for Michael Jackson’s Items Is Canceled

Michael Jackson's Auction Canceled
Looks like Michael Jackson can save his possessions after all!
An auction that was scheduled next week to sold the megastar’s memorabilia goods, has been canceled yesterday. The news was confirmed by Julien’s Auction House who organizing the sell-off, after they reached a settlement with the singer over their dispute.
As executive director of Julien’s Auctions, Martin Nolan explained, “I can tell you that both parties today agreed not to move forward with the auction on April 22. The collection will stay together to be returned to Michael Jackson and MJJ Productions.”
Jackson’s production company had been attempting to halt the April 22-25 auction with the arguments that Jackson hadn’t authorized it, although they were approving the sale and co-operating with Julien’s at first. One of the attempts that MJJ Productions made is filing a lawsuit against Julien’s, in Los Angeles last month.
The idea of doing an auction for Jackson’s valuable goods had sparked worldwide interest from memorabilia collectors and Jackson fans, and those reactions might have been the reason why Jackson had a second thought to continue with the sale. Clearly, he still got so much loyal fans.
A joint statement that was released by Jackson’s spokesman Dr. Tohme R. Tohme and auction organizer Darren Julien stated, “There was so much interest from so many of Jackson’s fans that instead of putting the items in the hands of private collectors, Dr. Tohme and Julien’s Auction House have made arrangements that will allow the collection to be shared with and enjoyed by Jackson’s fans for many years to come.”
Everything had settled nicely now, and about 2,000 items from Neverland Ranch — including a customized Rolls Royce limousine, his white glove and dozens of Jackson’s concert costumes — are saved. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but it was said that the results were satisfying to both parties.
The auction will be a sad thing for your fans if it’s happen, Michael. Thankfully not!
