Beyonce is Fiercely Sitting at the Top of Box Office

Single Ladies singer, Beyonce Knowles made another great appearance in the big cinema. It looks like her acting career is getting better, stronger, and fierce!

This 27-year-old diva teamed up with Heroes star, Ali Larter and The Office’s actor Idris Elba in a thriller titled Obsessed. Directed by Steve Shill, the movie debuted as the top weekend movie with $28.5 million in ticket sales.

According to box-office tracker Media By Numbers, the strong opening of Obsessed helped maintain this week’s revenue, with overall revenues at about $112 million, up 23.5 percent from the same weekend last year.

In the movie, Beyonce took the role of Sharon Charles, the wife of Elba’s character, Derek Charles. The couple’s marriage starting to hit several rocks after a psychotic temporary worker who came into their lives. Lisa, who suitably played by Ali Larter, begins stalking the husband. She also manipulates and tries everything she can to wreck the Charles family.

Obsessed was dubbed as a new version of 1987’s Fatal Attraction, which starred Glenn Close and Michael Douglas. Hopefully the film will have strong position until next week, since Hugh Jackman’s latest movie, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, will hit theaters May 1st.
