Although it took two years of waiting, Aerosmith’s fans in Maui, Hawaii, finally got what they deserved.
The band announced their plans to play a free concert in Maui, as a settlement for a class-action lawsuit filed by their 8,300 dissapointed fans.
Back in 2007, Aerosmith canceled a show in Maui, with no refunds. Fans accusing them of canceling the gig in order to play a better-paying private show in Oahu. After the no-show, hundreds of fans filed a class action case against the band, claiming that they had spent between $500,000 and $3 million in travel costs, handling fees and other expenses to attend the show.
Now the band are planning to play a show for the original ticket-holders and have said they will cover all expenses for the fans, as said by Brandee Faria, an attorney representing the would-be concertgoers.
A date or venue for the show is yet to be announced, but it is said that the concert will be held around September or October, after Aerosmith wraps up its North America tour. The band’s lawyer, Jay Handlin, commented about the settlement saying, “The band is about the music. So, they are glad to be able to resolve this in a way that really focuses on connecting or reconnecting the people of Hawaii with the band and its music.”
That’s a good news for the fans. Well, they should get ready now to sing along Steven Tyler!
