Carla Bruni’s Nude Image Sold For $91,000!

The wife of French President, Carla Bruni a.k.a Mrs. Nicolas Sarkozy, made the headlines yesterday, because of the extravagant price on her nude picture sold on one of Christie’s auction in New York.

The black-and-white photo of Carla Bruni taken by a photographer named Michel Comte sold for $91,000 (£45,000) -”that’s more than 22 times its estimate of £1,500 to £2,000″, source from Christie’s said.

Carla Bruni’s picture that were taken 15 years ago, measures 32.5cm by 22.5cm, was sold by German-born collector Gert Elfering and was acquired from the artist directly. It was bought by a buyer for a Chinese art collector.

Before being the first lady of France, Carla Bruni was a model, start at the age of 19, and then becoming a singer & songwriter. She’s still active as an artist, and her second album, “No Promises” was released in January 2007.

Hmm… other than perfumes, designer’s stilettos, branded bags, and haute-couture dresses, I guess this is another ‘asset’ from France. A reallllly expensive one, that is.
