Lance Armstrong
Another addition in the Armstrong family!
Lance Armstrong announced the birth of his son on the social-networking site Twitter late Thursday night. He and girlfriend Anna Hansen welcomed a 7 lb., 5 oz, 20-inch-long baby boy named Max.
The proud dad tweeted to his account at about 11:15 p.m. EDT as the newborn, “Wassup, world? My name is Max Armstrong and I just arrived. My Mommy is healthy and so am I!” The seven-time Tour de France winner also posted a picture of the baby in a cap playfully sticking his tongue out at the camera.
About 15 minutes after the initial post, the pro cyclist sent another message praising the doctor and nurse who helped deliver the newborn, saying they were amazing. Baby Max will join Armstrong’s three children from his previous marriage to Kristin Richard. They are 10-year-old Luke, and 8-year-old twins; Isabelle and Grace.
After three years retiring, Armstrong announced in September his return to competition and cycling’s marquee race in 2009. As a cancer survivor, he called his comeback an attempt to raise global awareness in his fight against cancer. The Tour de France begins July 4.
Congratulations to Lance and Anna!
