Chris Brown
It’s time for another update from Chris Brown and Rihanna’s assault case.
Chris Brown’s lawyer has asked the California Supreme Court to delay a key hearing in the R&B singer’s assault case, until it can rule on the lawyer’s attempt to get information from police.
Court records showed on Tuesday that Mark Geragos, Brown’s attorney, wants the state’s high court to put off the preliminary hearing that was scheduled for Monday. Decision hasn’t been made by the court, though.
This is the second time Geragos tried to ask for a delay on the case. He is still on progress of seeking details on a police probe of a photo leak that showed Rihanna looking bruised and bloodied. Geragos’ first request had been denied by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg last month, saying it was too early in the case to deal with that.
Geragos is now seeking access to police personnel and investigative records, and a judge will decide after Monday’s hearing whether there is enough evidence for the case to proceed.
19-year-old Brown faces felony assault and criminal threats charges, as a result of his assault against Rihanna last February. The Disturbia songtress has been called to appear at the Los Angeles court hearing set for Monday and if asked to testify, her attorney has said she will do so. Brown would also be present.
I think the trial will be interesting to follow. Let’s wait and see for more updates!
