Billy Joel and His Third Wife Are Separating

It looks like the third time is not a charm for Billy Joel.

The legendary singer and wife Katie Lee are calling it quits. In a statement issued by both of their reps, the pair said, “After nearly five years of marriage Billy Joel & Katie Lee Joel have decided to separate. This decision is a result of much thoughtful consideration. Billy & Katie remain caring friends with admiration and respect for each other.”

60-year-old Joel married 27-year-old Lee, who is a television food critic and cook book author, five years ago at Joel’s mansion on New York’s Long Island. The Uptown Girl singer was previously married two times, to supermodel Christie Brinkley (and has a daughter together), and to his business manager Elizabeth Weber Small.

The couple were several times reported had some troubles in their marriage, but they denied it. Joel recorded the song All My Life as an anniversary gift to the first season host of Bravo TV’s Top Chef two years ago, but unfortunately they won’t be spending all their lives together now.

It’s sad though, but maybe Joel will try his luck on the fourth time. Well anyway… best wishes to you both!
