Bad news for Chris Brown.
After Brown’s attorney request to delay an upcoming hearing in his assault case against former girlfriend Rihanna, Brown apparently had to swallow the bitter fact, the request had been rejected by the California Supreme Court yesterday.
The 20-year-old R&B singer couldn’t postpone it any longer now, because no matter what, Brown is due back in court on Monday for a preliminary hearing, after which a judge will decide whether there is enough evidence for his case to go to trial.
Brown was arrested in February and is accused of having assaulted, and made criminal threats to the Umbrella singer Rihanna following a Los Angeles party, just the night before the 2009 Grammy Awards.
Brown has pleaded not guilty in the case, but he faces up to four years in prison if convicted. On the other hand, one of Rihanna’s lawyers has said that if requested, the 21-year-old Barbados-born singer will testify against Brown at Monday’s hearing.
