Farrah Fawcett Died at 62

Apparently, her upcoming dream wedding won’t be happening after all. Farrah Fawcett died yesterday. She was 62.

The Charlie Angel’s star died Thursday after a long battle with cancer. She died in hospital surrounded by friends and family shortly before 9:30 am (1630 GMT).

In a statement released by Fawcett’s publicist Arnold Robinson, her long time companion Ryan O’Neal said, “After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away. Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world.”

The actress -who gained popularity when an alluring poster of her in a red swimsuit came out- was diagnosed with anal cancer in late 2006. It spread to her liver in 2007, proving resistant to numerous medical treatments in Germany and California.

Fawcett’s death in a Los Angeles hospital came just six weeks after the TV broadcast in May of a video diary she made chronicling her battle with cancer and her final months. The documentary that was called Farrah’s Story, effectively a self-penned obituary by the actress, who was bedridden and had lost her famous hair by the time it was shown.

Earlier this week, O’Neal said Fawcett had agreed to marry him before her death. 68-year-old O’Neal told People magazine’s online edition, he had comforted Fawcett through the night in the hours before her death.

“I loved her with all my heart. I will miss her so very, very much. She was in and out of consciousness. I talked to her all through the night. I told her how very much I loved her. She’s in a better place now.”

She is now became an ‘angel’ who is guarded by other angels up there. So long, Farrah Fawcett.
