Looks like the magic spell is not strong enough to protect Ron Weasley from Swine Flu.
Just three days before the London premiere of his newest movie, the actor who plays Ron Weasley in Harry Potter movies, Rupert Grint is suffering from the swine flu. But thank God, according to British tabloids, 20-year-old Grint is recovering from a mild case of the illness.
It was reported that red-haired Grint caught the flu while filming the seventh (and last) movie of Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. He took several days off from the shooting, until his doctor confirmed that the Grint was no longer contagious. Now, he can continue the film’s production, and also well enough to attend Tuesday’s London premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
As Grint’s publicist said, “It has just been confirmed that Rupert Grint has taken a few days out of filming due to a mild bout of swine flu. He has now recovered and is looking forward to joining his fellow cast members at the junket and premieres this week and will then return to filming directly afterwards.” The rep also added that he is not contagious, and that filmmakers were able to shoot around Grint’s absence and no production days were lost.
Meanwhile, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince opens in most of Europe on July 15 and in the United States and Japan two days later. It is expected to be this year’s summer blockbuster, as it is long awaited by the fans.
